Let's answer your questions

Can a regular car tow a HeroCamper?

A regular car can often tow a HeroCamper. HeroCampers are designed to be lightweight, typically weighing between 1,000-1,200 kg. This is considerably lighter than many traditional caravans. Also the HeroCamper teardrop shape is designed to reduce wind resistance, making it easier to tow.

While many regular cars can tow a HeroCamper, it's crucial to check your car's specifications and local regulations to ensure safe and legal towing. If you're unsure, it's always best to consult with a HeroCamper dealer.

Can I tow a HeroCamper with a regular driver’s license?

In most countries, including the US and Europe, a regular driver's license (Category B) is sufficient to tow a HeroCamper, but with limitations. The combined weight of your car and the fully loaded camper must not exceed 3.500 kg. If the trailer's weight (or the combined weight) exceeds these limits, you'll need an additional driving license category (like BE in Europe).

Look up the specific towing regulations in your country or state or ask your local HeroCamper dealer, and refer to your car's owner's manual to find its maximum towing capacity.

Can I camp with a HeroCamper anywhere, or are the rules the same as for caravans?

While HeroCampers offer more freedom than traditional caravans due to their size and off-road capabilities, and expands your options and allows you to explore more remote and less crowded locations, the same basic rules and regulations for camping generally apply.

Most land is privately owned or managed by authorities. You generally need permission to camp, whether you have a tent, caravan, or a HeroCamper. Wild camping (camping outside designated areas) is allowed in some places, but it often comes with restrictions and rules mostly concerned about minimizing your impact on the environment.

Platforms like Campspace, Pintrip and Alpaca who are linking campers with individuals who offer their land for overnight stays, certainly change the landscape of camping, and they offer a fantastic advantage for HeroCamper users. These platforms offer diverse and low-cost overnight stays, from farms and vineyards to private gardens and secluded spots in nature.

How do I get power for the campervan?

The HeroCamper is equipped with solar panels on the front of the camper, which allows the battery to charge both when you are stationary and when you are driving. There is always 12V available in the HeroCamper, as long as there is sufficient power in the battery. This allows you to use lights, charge devices and small appliances.

If you connect a HeroCamper to your car using  a 13-pin connector you will add power to the 12V power while driving.

If you need 230V, you will either need to purchase an inverter that converts 12V to 230V or be at a campsite with access to a mains power outlet.

How do I use the kitchen?

The kitchen is designed to make outdoor cooking easy. There is an option to purchase a gas stove, which is powered by a gas bottle stored in the front of the camper. Once the gas stove is connected, you can easily prepare meals in nature. With the practical kitchen tent, you can even stay dry and cook if the weather is bad. It creates a cozy and functional base that makes the experience even better, regardless of the weather.
