Prepare Your HeroCamper for the Camping Season

Whether you're bringing your HeroCamper out of winter storage or have been using it throughout the colder months, It’s always a good idea to get your HeroCamper ready before setting off on new adventures.

We’ve put together an overview of the most important steps and some handy tips to get you started.

Exterior Wash

Give your camper a proper exterior wash using a pH-neutral shampoo or HeroCamper’s recommended product, Soft99 Neutral Shampoo. Start by rinsing the camper with water to remove loose dirt and small stones. Then wash the entire vehicle, preferably using a foam lance. Once clean, rinse thoroughly and dry off with a microfiber cloth (we recommend Würth Microfiber Cloths).

Polishing

If your camper needs a bit of extra care and you want to bring back that glossy finish, consider polishing it. We recommend using Rupes D-A Coarse Polish along with the Coarse Wool Polishing Pad.

To ensure the polish lasts even longer, follow up with Soft99 Fusso Wax Coat Light Color or Dark Color for extra protection and shine.

Check Tires, Lights & Indicators

Inspect your camper’s tires. Tread depth should be at least 1.6 mm, and don’t forget to check the tire pressure. Keep in mind that tires older than 5 years do not meet Tempo100 requirements in Denmark or Germany.

Also, make sure that all exterior lights and indicators are working properly.

Set Up Your Awning, Kitchen Tent & Rooftop Tent

We recommend setting up your awning, kitchen tent, and rooftop tent (if you have one) to check that everything is clean, intact, and free from mold or mildew.

Check for Moisture & Air Out the Interior

If your HeroCamper has been in storage over the winter, check for signs of moisture. If you find any, we recommend using a moisture absorber. It's also a good idea to air out the camper thoroughly to freshen things up.

Test Interior Features

Turn on all lights and check if your heater is working. Check the voltage on your LFP battery. If you forgot to power off the system during winter, the battery might be fully discharged. We recommend giving it a boost charge. If the voltage doesn’t increase, feel free to contact us to book a service appointment.

Kitchen Check

Take some time to inspect and thoroughly rinse the water tank, using a specialized water tank cleaner can help ensure everything is fresh and safe for use. While you're at it, check the cooler for any signs of mold or mildew and give it a good clean if needed.

If your kitchen countertop could use a little love, we recommend refreshing it with Würth Stainless Steel Spray and a Würth Microfiber Cloth. For deeper scratches or visible marks, you may need to polish the surface using Rupes D-A Coarse Polish together with the Intermediate Foam Pad to restore its look.
