HeroCamper signs an agreement with a Danish rooftop tent manufacturer

The two Danish outdoor companies, HeroCamper and Moby Mountain have got together in a partnership that builds on a mutual passion, to create the best setting in order to seek out different nature experiences.

Says Lasse Smidt, CEO at HeroCamper.

– Sometimes you travel around the world without finding what you are looking for. At other times it only takes a small ride down E20 and you knock into a company that shares the same passion, to create outdoor products out of the ordinary. HeroCamper and Moby Mountain is a perfect match because we resemble each other in our approach to the outdoor market, says Lasse Smidt.

HeroCamper have since 2017 build some of the most robust campers in the market for a demanding outdoor audience in USA, Europe and Australia. The camper easily fits two adults, but if you are more than two, there is a need for a rooftop tent.

– Today, a great portion of our campers are sold with a rooftop tent because of the added flexibility. And when the campers leave the factory in Esbjerg with a rooftop tent on the railing, our customers expects that the quality of the rooftop tent matches the rest of the camper. Therefore, we have been on a lookout for a business partner, that delivers a model which we cannot produce ourselves, he continues.

HeroCampers search led them to Kolding, where Morten Ejby the CEO of Moby Mountain founded the company after a longer period of development, just before the first corona shutdown in 2020. And the timing could not have been any better.

– I founded the company at a time, where the corona pandemic created a lot of interest in different outdoor experiences in neighbouring regions. And in the middle of it all, we had a product that made it easy for people to pack their car and go on a microadventure. We could not have dreamed of a better start, says Morten Ejby.

Despite that Moby Mountain is only entering its fourth season, the company’s rooftop tents are already a big success, and the cooperation with HeroCamper in Esbjerg is yet another recognition of the company’s high quality and its great customer service.

– Naturally, we have noticed HeroCamper in our start-up phase and see many similarities between us and them, and now that we can put our tent on a camper which already has become somewhat of a design icon in the outdoor industry, it is something that makes us incredible proud. Our expectations for the collaboration is high, and we have a good feeling that we are two local companies that can help each other out, Morten Ejby says.
